ইংরেজি থেকে বাংলা অনুবাদের কৌশলঃ

অনুবাদ মানে এক ভাষার শব্দের বদলে অন্য ভাষায় শব্দ সাজানো নয়।বরং মুল ভাব বা বক্তব্য অন্য ভাষায় প্রকাশ করা । তাই ইংরেজি থেকে বাংলা অনুবাদের সময় নিচের কয়েকটি প্রধান দিকের প্রতি লক্ষ রাখা দরকার :
১.অনুবাদ করার সময় নির্ধারিত অংশটুকু মন দিয়ে বারবার পড়ে মূল কথা বোঝার চেষ্টা করতে হবে ।
২.দুর্বোধ্য শব্দ বা বাক্যাংশের অর্থ জানা না থাকলে বক্তব্য বিষয়ের সঙ্গে সংগতি রেখে সম্ভাব্য কাছাকাছি বাংলা শব্দ ব্যবহার করতে হবে । অনুবাদ সম্ভব না হলে দুর্বোধ্য শব্দ বা বাক্যাংশটুকু হুবহু বাংলা বাক্যে ব্যবহার করা যেতে পারে।
৩.ইংরেজি অনেক শব্দের আক্ষরিক বাংলা অনুবাদ সম্ভব নয়।এমন ক্ষেত্রে ভাবানুবাদ করাছাড়া উপায় থাকে না।
৪.মূল্যের বাচ্য ও ক্রিয়ার কাল অনুবাদে অপরিবর্তিত রাখতে হয়।
৫.মূল বাচ্য জটিল বা যৌগিক বাক্য হলে বাংলা অনুবাদের সুবিধার জন্য তা একাধিক বাক্যে ভেঙ্গে অনুবাদ করা ভালো।যেমন:
মূল বাক্য:I know the man who died yesterday is the father of my friend Shabuj.
আড়ষ্ট অনুবাদ : আমি ঐ লোকটাকে জানি যে গতকাল মারা গেছে সে আমার বন্ধু সবুজের বাবা।
সাবলীল অনুবাদ: গতকাল যিনি মারা গেছেন তাঁকে আমি চিনি।তিনি আমার বন্ধু সবুজের বাবা।
৬.মূলের প্রত্যক্ষ ও পরোক্ষ উক্তি অনুবাদে অক্ষুন্ন রাখতে হবে।
৭.ব্যক্তি,স্থান ইত্যাদি সংখ্যঅবাচক বিশেষ্য শব্দের অনুবাদ হয় না।এ ধরনেরে শব্দ বাংলায় প্রতিবর্ণীকরণ করতে হয়।অর্থাৎউচ্চারণ অনুয়ায়ী বাংলায় লিখতে হয়।যেমন:Shakespesre-শেকসপিয়র,Newton-নিউটন,London-লন্ডন।
৮.মূলে পরিভাষা থাকলে অনুবাদে সুপ্রচলিত বাংলা পরিভাষা ব্যবহার করা উচিত।বাংলা পরিভাষা অপ্রচলিত বা দুর্বোধ্য হলে মূল পরিভাষার বাংলা প্রতিবর্ণীকরণ করতে হয়।যেমন:পারিভাষিক শবেদর প্রতিবর্নিকরণি :
Physics-পদার্থ , Adjective- বিশেষণ , Court-আদালত।
পারিভাষিক শব্দের প্রতিবর্ণীকরণ: Television- টেলিভিশন , Computer-কম্পিউটার , Station-স্টেশন।
৯. মূল পাঠে ব্যবহৃত শব্দের একাধিক অর্থ থাকলে অনুবাদে অধিকতর গ্রহণযোগ্য শব্দ বেছে নিতে হয়।
যেমন:
Telephone line-টেলিফোনের লাইন/তার
A fishing line-মাছ ধরার সুতো
Parallel lines-সমান্তরাল রেখা
A bus line-বাস চলাচল ব্যবস্থা
The family line-বংশপরম্পরা।
১০.বাংলা অনুবাদে যেন সাধু ও চলিত রীতির মিশ্রণ না হয় সেদিকে লক্ষ রাখতে হয়।
১১.বাংলা অনুবাদের ভাষা যেন কৃত্রিম বা আড়ষ্ট না হয় ।বাংলা ভাষার মাধুরর্য,সরলতা,স্পষ্টতা,সাবলীলতা ইত্যাদি যেন বজায় থাকে সেদিকে লক্ষ রাখা উচিত।
১২বাংলা ছাঁদের বাক্য রীতি ও ইংরেজি ছাঁদের বাক্যরীতির মধ্যে সুস্পষ্ট পার্থক্য দেখা যায়।তাই অনুবাদ করার সময় ইংরেজি রীতির বাক্যকে বাংলা রীতিতে বদলে নেওয়া উচিত।এ ক্ষেত্রে কয়েকটি লক্ষণীয় দিক হচ্ছে:
ক. ইংরেজিতে কর্তার পর ক্রিয়া ও শেষে কর্ম বসে।পক্ষান্তরে বাংলায় কর্তার পরে কর্ম ও শেষে ক্রিয়া বসে ।
যেমন :
He played football yesterday {কর্তা+ক্রিয়া+ক
র্ম(+অন্য পদ)}
সে গতকাল ফুটবল খেলেছিল ।{কর্তা(+অন্য পদ)+কর্ম +ক্রিয়া}
খ. ইংরেজিতে verb ব্যবহার করতেই হয় । বাংলার অন্য পদে ক্রিয়া পদ ঊহ্য থাকে ।যেমন : The door is open. – দরজাটা খোলা {ক্রিয়াপদ ঊহ্য }
গ ইংরেজি বাক্যে a,an,the থাকলে অনেক ক্ষেত্রে বাংলায় সেগুলো অনুবাদ হয় না ।যেমন: Honesty is the best policy.- সততা মহৎ গুণ।
He knows a lot about the earth, the sun and the moon.
তিনি পৃথিবী,সূর্য ও চন্দ্র সম্পর্কে অনেক কিছুই জানেন ।
ঘ. ইংরেজি বাক্যে অনেক ক্ষেত্রে it, there, may ইত্যাদি বিশেষ রীতি হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হয় । বাংলায় এগুলো বাদ দিতে হয়। যেমন:
There is a school in our village.- আমাদের গ্রামে একটি স্কুল আছে ।
ইংরেজি বাগধারা বা প্রবাদ-প্রবচন অনুবাদের সময় লাগসই বংলা বাগধারা বা প্রবাদ-প্রবচন ব্যবহার করা উচিত ।যেমন :
As you sow so say you reap .- যেমন কর্ম তেমন ফল।
He has gone to the dogs.- সে গোল্লায় গেছে ।
চ. ইংরেজি বা বংলা প্রশ্নবাক্যের পদক্রম আলাদা । বংলা অনুবাদে বংলা রীতি অনুসরণ করতে হয় ।যেমন :
Are you ill? {ক্রিয়া /সহায়ক ক্রিয়া +কর্তা+…}
আপনি কি অসুস্থ ? {কর্তা + প্রশ্নসূচক অব্যয় +…}

I am fond of collecting foreign stamps. I have chosen it because it is both interesting and instructive. As one goes on collecting, he becomes in direct touch with geographical , historical and social conditions of various countries . The pictures of various things of interest,rare animals, beautiful sights all these are thought provoking .
বঙ্গানুবাদ :
আমার শখ বিদেশি ডাকটিকিট সংগ্রহ করা । আমি এটা বেছে নিয়েছি কারণ এটা যেমন মজার তেমনি শিক্ষামূলক ।এটা সংগ্রহের ভেতর দিয়েই বিভিন্ন দেশের ভৌগোলিক, ঐতিহাসিক, সামাজিক অবস্থা সম্পর্কে জানা যায় । কৌতূহলজনক বিভিন্ন জিনিস ,দুর্লভ প্রাণী, সুন্দর জায়গার ছবি – সবই চিন্তাকে উসকে দেয় ।

এই আমার মা । আমার মায়ের মতো আর কেউ নেই ।আমার প্রতি তিনি কত না স্নেহশীল ! তিনি সর্বদা আমার যত্ন নেন । আমি অসুস্থ হলে মা বড়ই উদ্বিগ্ন হন ।

ধুমপান খুব ক্ষতিকর । সেই সঙ্গে ব্যয়বহুলও । এটি পরিবেশকে দূষিত করে । যাঁরা ধূমপান করেন তারা বেশিদিন বাঁচতে পারেন না । তাই প্রত্যেকের উচিত ধূমপান ত্যাগ করা ।

বঙ্গানুবাদ :
সময়ানুবর্তিতার চর্চা করে একে অভ্যাসে পরিণত করতে হয়।শৈশবকাল থেকেই বিভিন্ন কাজের মধ্য দিয়ে এই গুণ অর্জন করতে হয়।শৈশব হচ্ছে বীজ বপনের সময় । এ সময়ে গড়ে ওঠা অভ্যাসই আমাদের মধ্যে সারা জীবন বজায় থাকে ।আমাদের উদ্দেশ্য হওয়া উচিত ‘যথাসময়ে যথা কাজ ।’

সততা মহৎ গুণ ।জীবনের প্রতিটি ক্ষেত্রে সাফল্যের গোপন রহস্য হলো সততা।সততার মূল্য খুবই বেশি । সততা দিয়ে ভালোবাসা , শ্রদ্ধাও নির্ভীকতা জয় করা যায় । সৎ ব্যক্তি সুখে ও মর্যাদায় দিন অতিবাহিত করে । সততাই সর্বোৎকৃষ্ট পন্থা ।

পরদিন সকালে যখন ক্রুসোর ঘুম ভাঙল তখন সমুদ্র শান্ত, আকাশ নীল এবং মেঘমুক্ত ।জাহাজ তটভূমির আধ মাইলের ও কম দূরে রয়েছে । সে জাহাজের কাছে যেতে চাইল । কারণ খাবার ও পোশাক কিছুই তার কাছে ছিল না । সে সাঁতার দিয়ে জাহাজের পাশের একটি গর্তের মধ্য দিয়ে কেবিনে প্রবেশ করল ।

When Marco was a boy of fifteen his father decided to go to China.Marco was not very strong and was too dedicated to go on such a long journey.But he was brave and persuaded his father to take him with him.

সেকালে পৃথিবীর বিখ্যাত পর্যটকদের মধ্যে অন্যতম ছিলেন মার্কো পোলো ।তিনি ভেনিস শহরে ১২৫৪ খ্রিস্টাব্দে জন্মগ্রহণ করেছিলেন । মার্কোর বয়স যখন পনেরো , সেই সময় তার পিতা চীন দেশে যাবেন বলে স্থির করেছিলেন ।মার্কোর স্বাস্থ্য বিশেষ ভালো ছিল না । এই দীর্ঘ ভ্রমণের পক্ষে তা ছিল একেবারেই অনুপযোগী ।কিন্তু তিনি ছিলেন সাহসী ।তিনি পিতাকে তার সহযাত্রী করে নেবার জন্য সম্মত করলেন ।

হারকিউলিস ছিলেন একজন মস্ত বীর । একবার এক অচেনা জায়গায় যাওয়ার পথে তিনি এক দৈতকে দেখতে পেলেন । দৈতটি ছিল পাহাড়ের ছেয়ে লম্বা।সে তার মাথা করে আকাশ ধরে রেখেছিল ।সে হারকিউলিসকে জিজ্ঞেস করলেন ,‘তুমি কে?কী চাও “ সেই বীর বলল ,‘আমি হারকিউলিস । আমি সোনালি আপেলের বাগানে যেতে চাই ।’

গ্রন্থের মাধ্যমে আমরা সর্বোত্তম সমাজের পরিচয় পাই । গ্রন্থ আমাদের শ্রেষ্ঠ মননশীল ব্যক্তিদের অস্তিত্বের কাছে নিয়ে আসে ।আমরা তাদের কথা ও কাজের সম্বেন্ধে জ্ঞাত হই ।আমরা দেখি, যেন তারা সত্যিই জীবিত । আমরা তাদের চিন্তাধারার অংশগ্রহণকারী হয়ে পড়ি। তাদের সঙ্গে আমরা সমব্যাথী হয়ে যাই ।

নিজের দেশকে ভালবাসাই স্বদেশপ্রেম। এটি একটি প্রবল ভাবাবেগ , যা স্বার্থহীন ও মহৎ ।স্বদেশের কল্যাণ কামনায় একজন দেশপ্রেমিক নিজের জীবন পর্যন্ত উৎসর্গ করতে পারেন । এটি একটি আদর্শ, যা দেয় সাহস ও শক্তি । কিন্তু মেকি স্বদেশপ্রেম মানুষকে সংকীর্ণমনা ও স্বার্থপর করে তোলে ।

সততা মহৎ গুণ । যদি অপরকে প্রতারণা না কর , মিথ্যা না বল, অন্যের সঙ্গে যথার্থ ও ন্যায়সঙ্গত আচরণ কর , তবে তুমি সৎ ব্যক্তি । সততাই শ্রেষ্ঠ পন্থা । সৎ ব্যক্তিকে সকলে সম্মান করে । কততা ব্যতীত কেউ জীবনে উন্নতি করতে পারে না ।

Wealth is no doubt necessary for happiness in life. But it is the tendency to be concentrated in the hands of few. The result is the rich become richer and the poor poorer.This is certainly a misuse of wealth.It should be fairly distributed among all so that it may bring happiness to the greatest number of people in the society.

ছাত্রজীবন ভবিষ্যতের প্রস্তুতিপর্ব ।এ সময়টি জীবনের সবচেয়ে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ অধ্যায় । আজ যে ছাত্র তরুণ ,আগামী দিনে সে হয়ে উঠবে পরিণত মানুষ । তার নানা কর্তব্য আছে । সেগুলি তাকে সুষ্ঠুভাবে পালন করতে হবে । ছাত্রজীবনে তার প্রাথমিক কর্তব্য হচ্ছে অধ্যয়ন ও শিক্ষালাভ ।পড়াশুনায় তার যত্নশীল হওয়া উচিত ।

কম্পিউটার বিজ্ঞানের এক নতুন বিস্ময় । তা মুহূর্তের মধ্যে হাজার হাজার হিসেব কষতে পারে. লক্ষ লক্ষ তথ্য ও সংখ্যা স্মৃতিপটে ধরে রাখতে পারে এবং অনায়াসেই তা স্মরণ করতে পারে ।আমাদের দেশে কম্পিউটারের ব্যবহার দ্রুত গতিতে বেড়ে চলছে । বর্তমানে ব্যাংক, দোকান, বিমান , অফিস , গ্রন্থাগার সর্বত্র কম্পিউটার ব্যবহৃত হচ্ছে । মনে হয়, ভবিষ্যতের মানবসভ্যতায় কম্পিউটারের ভূমিকা প্রাধান্য লাভ করতে চলছে ।

It is very easy to acquire bad habits, such as eating too many sweets or too much food or drinking too many liquid of any kinds, or smoking .The more we do a thing , the more we tend to like doing it , and if we do not continue to do it ,we feel unhappy.This is called the force of habit, and the force of habit should be fought against .

বদ অভ্যাস আয়ত্ত করা খুব সহজ, যেমন অনেক মিষ্টি খাওয়া অনেক বেশি পরিমাণ খাওয়া কিংবা কোনোরকম তরল দ্রব্য বেশি পান করা বা ধূমপান করা । আমরা যতই কিছু- একটা করি ততই সেটা আরও বেশি করা পছন্দ করি । যদি তা করে যেতে না পারি তাহলে অসুখী বোধ করি । একেই বলা হয় অভ্যাসের জোর । এই অভ্যাসের জোরের বিরূদ্ধে লড়াই করা উচিত
